I am looking for some info/advice. I have a B7200DT with a 3pt rating of ~400lbs according to manual. I want to get pallet forks and use it to move some weights in the 600 lb range. My question is what will happen if I go over the 3pt limit in the manual? 400lbs seems way low to me for cat 1 3pt, especially compared to the newer B1700 specs of ~1000lbs. Is this a limit in the hydraulics/arms or just a Kubota safety limit? I have a loader (1640A) on it and I was planning on counter balancing the weight with something in the bucket. Would I be better off getting a set of forks to replace the bucket for the loader? The loader is rated at 600lb max lift. Anyone know of a source for that.

I think that you do not need any counter weight in the loader. The loader by itself is all you need. The worst that will happen,it just won't pick it up.If you ever spent any time on a farm or around machinery, you will find that ,you try until your machine just won't do any more.I think that you will be surprised on the amount that you can do,that the owners manual says you can't.Don,t worry. ....
